How many CPUs are used on a Galaga 2 board set?

Which version Z80's are used?

I want to be able to replace all the CPUs on a Galaga PCB that I'm trying to get working. How many and what versions do I need to buy?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

There are 3 z80's. One of them is a Z80A though. That said, I'm sure you could stuff A's into all three Z80 sockets and be just fine.

Take a look at the schematic to figure out which one is the A.

Excellent information. That's what I was able to determine also - 2 regular Z80's and 1 Z80A. I didn't know if using Z80A's in all 3 locations would be a problem or not.

I have a Galaga board that locks up on the test screen that says RAM OK. It was suggested that one of the CPU's may be faulty so I thought I'd go ahead and pickup all 3 to see if I can get this thing to wake up.

I usually use A versions in a Galaga pcbs for the lot had issues before on a bootleg with standard a Z80 locking up in the test menu and wasn't related to a faulty CPU fitted but fitting the A version fixed the issue
