I have 2 minor issues with my Galaga machine that I hope someone can help me with.

Issue #1: The monitor takes a long time to warm up. Once I turn the machine on, it can take 20 minutes for the picture to completely brighten and other 20 minutes for the picture to sharpen. Once it does, it's picture perfect, but why is it taking so long? I've had all the caps on the monitor board replaced, had a new flyback put in. I just can't figure it out...

Issue #2: When I put a credit in, it makes no sound. It's not until I press start button that the sound works and when I put in a credit it makes noise like its suppose to. But after I die, if I let the machine stay idle for more than 15-20 seconds, again the sound will not work when I put credits in until I click start. Hope that makes sense. All other sound works fine.

Thanks

Put the CRT on a tester/rejuvenator and see what the color gun emissions are. It's probably a weak CRT.

On the sound, probably a bad cap. Recap the sound section.

Where are you located? There's probably a member near you with a CRT tester/rejuvenator. If not, try a local TV repair shop.

If it turns out the CRT emissions are weak, what can I do?
The CRT rejuvenator that Channelmaniac mentioned can also help "fix" the weak emission problem. It is possible to kill the CRT when attempting to use a rejuvenator to fix it, but since yours seems to be really weak anyway, there's not much to lose.

You haven't mentioned what kind of monitor is in there. Make/model, please.

Just because a monitor is "rebuilt" eg shotgunned with caps and a new fly, doesn't mean that's it's still working properly. After rebuilding the B+ should be checked to make sure everything is operating correctly.

Its a G07. After the flyback was replaced last year, it worked great up until about a month ago

As for the long time to come up - some people say to replace the filter cap, but that doesn't always help. If you try it an it doesn't help (and another chassis works fine with this tube), try replacing R517...

Check your B+. Monitor that doesn't want to come on says something went out. For giggles, check R908 and see if it's gone open.
