Well for now I've thrown in the towel. Of course b/c my issues arent resolved but motivated b/c I love to play at least a few hours a week and dislike the inactivity. Probably a major oversight on my part blindly believing I could put 100's if not 1000's of hours on that board and expect it to keep going ...given its age. Cab was kept inside in air conditioned enviroment and I tried to be gentle, but I never seriously considered the effects of time and use . So a new board is on the way. Provided this board is reliable. I'll send the broken out for service. I regret that my over confidence believing I could fix it myself came off as arrogant. I developed this opinion by viewing this specific problem being fixed on one of the dozens of repair videos I saw online. And while I do still believe this could end up the issue, I do admit I lack the expertise to prove it. I foolishly thought I could just track down that chip and give it my best educated guess thereby taking a short cut. But Im no better off than where I started going this direction so a different path forward is needed. this was a needed wake up call if I want to keep playing at this rate. So I'll likely purchase a bit kit which will absorb the majority of my playing time and I'll hold my good board in reserve and only use it for record attempts or special occasions. Thanks for those who chimed in and offered suggestions. Sorry about bringing up piggy backing

I had no idea it was so controversial. And I will remain in touch but perhaps in some of the other appropriate threads.
