My Score is stuck at around 150K . I need tips on improving . Is it good to always go for the double ships ?

Hell yeah it is! Having the double ships will let you clear the bugs better while they are coming down, allowing less to be in the formation and thus not having to avoid as many shots when they rain them down on you.
I always try to clear one side before they really start coming down and stay on the clear side as they will shoot where you are at when they start to swoop down.Having double ships makes this task way easier.
It's also good to try to memorize the patterns in which the bugs down. With the double ships, you can easily clear the early stages before the bugs even form.

Thanks I'll try it out . Right now my strategy is don't die .

There are only 4 stages and they repeat in the same order over and over again. Killing as much as you can while it is entering the screen is key. Double ships is a must. The ten challenging stages require very little movement to ace them. The key to challenging stages is to pick your waiting points, such as in challenging stage number 2 the "N" in challenging stage aligns you to kill the first wave perfectly.

This is the best tip you will ever receive in this game:

The bugs that fall down towards you during the formation process (pre-formation), never come back. Use that to your advantage by shooting the formation during the sequence upon which bugs start to appear from the sides and side-stepping the ones that fall out prior to formation. When you set up the board with your fire (pre-formation) by doing as described above, if you cannot kill all the bugs prior to them starting to fall from the sky, try to keep them in heavier quantity on one side or another but never on both sides. This will hinder your ability to do as described in the next sentence....

Also fire is attracted to where you are/have been so try to go across the screen slowly in little jabs while shooting after formation rather than a sweeping motion or you can easily get cornered.

When the bugs are entering the screen, kill most of them, but leave 1 or 2. If you kill them all, the next row begins, if you kill all but a couple, you may get a 1-2 second reprieve until they they get in formation. This allows you to get to the other side of the screen in anticipation of the next group. Its key if you are going to put up really high scores as you will need the break to let your wrist rest.
As for the bonus levels, you can put up monster scores in a hurry. Just remember each bonus is like 20K. Memorize where to be although a good deal of the time ist just to the left of center. And figure out where is the best place to kill the boss group.

Also leave the last 2 guys at the very end of the regular stages. After the first bonus stage, one of the last 2 bugs will split into 3 guys. If you get the first tripple guys, it's an extra 1K, if its the green tripple guys, its 2K, and if its the yellow guys, its 3K. When you get good, you will see one of these tripples at the end of every stage except the bonus. If you make it to level 21, you would see around 12 of these groups since they don't start till level 4. It should be worth an extra 24K to your score if you could hit every one of them.
