OK, I got the Galaga home and started digging around in it... There's power to the monitor and marquee light but everything there's no communication between the boards and anything, no image on the screen, no reaction from coin drops...

Somewhere in the past someone installed a new power switcher where the problem board normally is. I checked power across this and things came back good. I pulled and cleaned the boards as much as I could but nothing changed with the status. I didn't pull the ROMs because they seem pretty stuck. I didn't want to pull too hard and mess things up. The boards look good.

Also, there was another board that came with this that plugs into the main board at the top then the harness plugs into this. Any udea what it is? It didn't show up in the schematics.

Any idea where to go next? Or, anyone want to take this monkey off my back for $250.00?

Nothing at all on the screen? No garbage?

Where did you check the +5v at? Did you check it on the board itself? Did this thing work before you carried it home? Look for loose wires if that's the case.

Probably a filter board. Post a pic. If it is the filter board you can remove it and plug the harness directly into the board. These filter boards are sources of problems.

Not enough data. Did this work before you moved it home? If so, look for something that got knocked loose.

If you're thinking of selling it, it would be VERY helpful if you would at least fill out your location in your profile or tell us in the thread where you are.
