My first cabinet was a Galaga. I'm wanting to spruce it up and get it playing perfectly. I'm thinking about putting a new monitor in for sure. The other thing I was thinking, was maybe putting a new multigame board in there. As long as it has galaga on it, I don't care what board I get. I was wondering how hard it will be to convert an original galaga cab to a multigame board, and if anybody has any good suggestions on a good multigame board to use. THANKS!

I don't understand...in one sentence u say its too cool of a game...and in the next its bland and off color? So do you not like the gameplay? The look of the cab? Just curious....

I don't really want to, but it's too cool of a game to leave in it's current state. I want people to be drawn to it and experience it instead of walking past it because it looks bland and off color.

I am doing the exact same thing right now. All you need is a Galaga to JAMMA adaptor, an extra control panel, and a multi-board. Put in the adaptor and multi-board, remove the Galaga control panel and place it in the back of the machine, put on the multi-game panel. When you get tired of it being a mutli-game, it takes less than 5 minutes and it is back to being an original Galaga with nothing hacked!

Your multi-panel will need a couple of small harnesses made but everything else is plug and play without molesting an original game!

Exactly that is what I was thinking of doing in my Ms. Pac to keep it original. Jamma to pac wiring, second control panel. Jamma board will sit next to the original (AS board). I also have one of the Multi Panel overlays with Ms. Pac from TOG and it has the trackball. Space is a premium.
