I am wondering what the pins are and wire colors? The more detail the better. I really don't feel like diagnosing this today. The wiring colors do not seem original... lots of striped wires in non-standard colors if you ask me.

When looking at the inside of the coin door at the back of the bulb socket and switches:

Bulb socket right side pin is? +5, +12 or ground?
Bulb socket left is: +5, +12 or ground?

Coin mech right side pin is? +5, +12 or ground?
coin mech left side pin: +5, +12 or ground?
coin mech middle pin is not used.

test and service switches would be nice too. thanks for your help

Dont go off the colors on the coin door, look at the Galaga wiring diagram and re-pin the connector if any are wrong. Just pop them out and put them back where they belong. The problem is the wiring might be wrong if that coin door came from an older machine like a pac or galaxian.

easy answers

I was hoping that someone like you, Riptor would have a good image or quick answer for me. I just didn't feel like mapping out all the wiring today. :)

Quit being lazy. The manual already has them all mapped out for you....

Yeah, what Mod said. Seriously, it doesnt get any simpler than looking at the wiring diagram and verifying the pinout. I wouldnt trust any wiring based off colors on something like coin doors that get swapped out often. I always repin the coin door to the harness, not vice versa.

You were asking about wires on bulbs and switches, thats easy. Take a look at the coin switches and bulbs and you should see a common color on all 4, those are your grounds. Using your meter you can connect the black lead to the ground you just identified and then use your red lead to find the + for the lamps.

reality

The reality is that my coin door doesn't look at all correct and I have wired some doors before. I'd like to make it look original and I'm just trying to piece all the info together. it doesn't even have a common ground color... whoever did this job before had some strange ideas. There's about 11 different wire colors? WTF.

schematic

I have the schematic mapped out. The PDF I had was lousy and I really didn't see the text before... I just totally missed it. For my Playchoice machine the wiring diagrams were much better with a lot of nice detail.

AS for the 2 molex connectors... I don't see any indication of the pin map for the 9 pin and 2 pin connectors. the 2 pin has to be +5 and ground but the 9 pin? Either attach a nice pic or show me where the info is please?

I don't think I have quite enough wire in the correct colors or this... where's the best place locally to pick up some yellow, orange and brown stranded 18 gauge? I know The Shack only caries red, green and black.
