Ok, what is the black on Galaga sides originally?

Is it gloss, flat, satin, matte, what?

Would this stuff from thisoldgame.com be close enough?
I guess any black would be close enough, but would it just 'jump out' and scream that it's the wrong black?

Can you install side art to vinyl without any problems? Anything that one needs to know before trying it?

Thanks.

When I repaint them, I do the Satin/Semi-Gloss and it looks about original...

most black cabs are satin, if you want a good paint that will withstand some abuse and is cheap get rustoleum

Original finish is semi-gloss. My Galaga had the factory mask still applied on the top of it. I peeled it back and compared it to samples...it was definitely a black semi-gloss finish.

I had a disassembled cabinet that I ended up giving away the sides, using the lower back for my galaga 48 in 1 project that I sold and tossing the rest. I know Alan still has one side and will be happy to see if I can talk him into giving me a chunk of it to send to you. However, I'd say that the satin vinyl you are using for the lower bezel bracket on the Nintendo cabinets is pretty damn close.
