I have a little bit of a Galaga issue I've finally got tired enough of to post about it.

When in attract mode, the sounds are a little off. The shots don't always make a sound, the enemies diving don't always make a complete sound, and the tractor beam only makes a chirping sound.

During game play, the sounds are fine.

The only other issue I have with the machine is sometimes there's a little bit of static on the text on the screen (scores, etc) and every once in a blue moon the screen will fill with dots... but the game will still play just fine.

I can rock the cabinet a little to get rid of the static/dots... so I'm not sure if it would be a socket issue or a cable issue.

Has anyone run across anything like this before?

very strange indeed, Is this only in attract mode or game play as well?

Sound problems are usually caps going or gone bad.

Oh yeah, check the voltage on them chips.

Only in attract mode. In the game the sounds are fine. The only oddness is a -little-, -very little-, distortion in the music that plays after your ship is captured during game play.

measure the voltages +5 and +12 and report them.

Sorry about the delay. Between work and having to move the other machines to get behind Galaga it took me longer than I'd've liked.

Anywho, 12V is good, 5V is sitting at 5.10V.
