For those who have this game i played it for the first time today and wow it is really cool! Starts out normal then gets very similar to galaga 88 and is a insane spiraling wild ride. If you guys are running a emulator check it out and let me know what you think!

What a trippy game, love it! And the same for the Xevious arrangement. Thanks for the head's up on this game.

Yes, yes it does. However, the audio on Xevious arrangement is awesome. Really gets your heart pumping and just makes you want to kick some ass. The one thing bad about the collection is that Galaga should have had a setting for speed up as the regular just seems hard to get anything going.

Pacman arrangement

Pacman arrangement is also a cross between pacman and pacmania and is worth checking out also!

I love the Rally-X Arrangement on the other Namco Classics PCB (Vol 2). Same basic gameplay as the original, but added a bunch of neat powerups, like crush all rocks, speed, slow down enemy cars, dropping bombs, etc.

I agree. I have had Classics vol. 1 for a while now, and broke down and picked up a vol. 2 from Wu a few days ago (despite not being a big Pac fan). Really good stuff.

I also love the old Namco Collection series for PSX. Really been tempted to hit eBay and pick up a set, but some of those discs are sorta rare and pricey.

Of the Galaga games, '88 is still my favorite. It is nice to have the "arrangement" version on hand to play as well. My Galaga cabinet has the following boards on a switcher for seamless selection between all of them:

Galaga
Namco Vol. 1 (Galaga, Xevious, Mappy & arrangements)
Galaga '88
Super Space Invaders '91 (AKA Majestic Twelve)
Pleaides
Battle Garegga (temporary until I can get it in a candy cab on a switcher with some other vertical Japan only shooters)

I'm using an Arcadeshop multi control panel and have the left two buttons wired into the "left" and "right" joystick inputs so that Pleaides and Space Invaders can be played as God intended them. I was running an Arcadeshop board set on the switcher as well, but just sold it in anticipation of buying the new SD progammable boards once the new update comes out and I am confident that they have sorted through all the nitpicks. I absolutely LOVED that Arcadeshop programmable, and hated to see it go. But I had someone want me to throw it in a cabinet that I sold to them...
