So,
I picked up a galaga arcade machine near me. I have a decent amount of experience fixing games, and a good knowledge of electronics. However, this galaga is a type of project I've never really taken on before.
For starters, there is no life. The coin door lights don't come on, the game doesn't coin up, counter won't count. I bought a new power supply for galaga, a standard switching one, didn't fix the issue. Checked voltages, reseated all the ICs.
Secondly, unfortunately the monitor that is in it the previous owner took it out and broke the neck of the tube, left a crack. I have no experience with tube or yoke swapping. The monitor was a K4600. I'd rather not swap it for a LCD.
So my questions are, where do I start? I have no idea if I'm even getting video. What monitors would work with this game? Is there anyone who would be willing to sell a compatible monitor that is located in Ohio? I'd also possibly be interested in getting one shipped.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, the cabinet itself is in really good condition. So I'd like to get this working. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
