Moved the Galaga 88, never really messed with it since it worked ok when I got it from Namco.

Gave it a quick look over, fire it up and nothing...
Powered down and gave it another look and found a ground wire tied in a knot behind the weird jamma connector board...and it was shorted to the +5 line. Also noticed the +5 and ground wires at the power supply were just twisted and jammed under the posts...fixed that and reconnected the knotted ground wire...

And now the game won't boot.
I get a rom test screen that goes white to red and then blank screen.
I'm guessing that ground line cooked something, but not sure what.
Any idea where to start?

Also, I get the +5 and +12 at the edge connector, so it is getting power.
It is executing some code since it starts the ROM test, but dies before the game starts and won't go into test mode.

I would verify the rom chips first since you have good voltages. Galaga games do the same thing until they start to process code. The screen is flipped so it is not processing code.
