Galaga 60 in 1 conversion

Please Just Blow my head off why don'nt you.

If that game is completely restored and you want too mess it up by doing this.

Just buy a Used Jamma cab and get a 60-1 board install it and call it a day.
I want to convert a dedicated galaga to a 60 in one game. I want the control panel to have just just one extra button in it but I also want to use a galaga overlay. Does anyone sell these ready to go? Here is one on ebay with the overlay and contol panel I would like to buy.

Sorry you misunderstood. I have an old galaga I want to convert to a 60 in one. I want my overlay and control panel to look like this on ebay. I want to buy the overlay and board already prepped. the ebay auction picture was for illustration purposes only. I will keep the original overlay and board if I ever decide to change it back to a dedicated galaga. The only boards I can find have too many holes. I just want one extra button like the picture and still be able to use a new galaga overlay.

Thx

Arcade shop does sell them but I need that extra fire button. Does anyone else sell them or do I just cut an extra hole in the board and overlay?

If I recall correctly, one only needs 3 buttons to play all the games properly on a 60-1. And most games can be played with just 2.
More than likely, you are going to need to get a second Galaga CP and drill the second hole yourself if you want it to look like the one you linked to on eBay.

I just didn't want to use the player 1 and player 2 buttons. An extra button like the one in the ebay auction is just perfect.

What do you plan on doing with the joystick? Galaga uses a 2-way and most games on the 60-in-1 are 4 or 8-way.

Buy a blank one or Galaga one from Arcadeshop, drill your extra hole (and round joystick hole), apply the Galaga overlay and cut out the extra hole - and done.

Or modify your own CP that way - which is what I did for a local guy who just HAD to have his Galaga converted that way....

What do you plan on using for a wire harness? That craptastic 60-1 PCB has nothing in common with a Galaga harness.

They do make a JAMMA cabinet adapter for Galaga type games (I have one in my Gaplus). That still won't fix the 2-way issue...and you won't be able to just pop a 4-way in there, as the 2-way stick has a different hole than the 4-way (it's slotted for 2-way movement, whereas the 4-way one has a bigger hole for up/down movement). I think you'd be better off following the other guys suggestion of an Arcadeshop control panel. That way you don't need to hack up your original one. That, in conjunction with a JAMMA cabinet adapter means you wouldn't have to hack up your original cab at all. Here's 2 of the control panels.
This one has 2 buttons, located on either side of the stick:

This one has 3 buttons and a trackball, but costs more (because of the trackball):

The only thing I'm not sure is if it would plug right into your cabinet. I know yours won't be wired for up/down and the extra fire button, but if you get the cabinet adapter, you should be able to attach the wires to it.

I would use a jamma harness. I would keep it original and leave the old stuff still there if I wanted to convert it back. I would keep the original control panel just in case also so I would keep it as dedicated as possible.
