Working on a Startrek G08 XY monitor. Paddle board looks shot. There are two components I can see I need to replace however the pcb has no identifying marks. Anyone know what components these are?
Ok I got it. 2N3904 and a 100Ohm resistor. I replaced both. Used a 1/4w where I could have probably used a 1/2w.
I also ended up replacing the 2N3906 transistor next to it as it didn't clear up the picture. It's like cut off on the left and shrunk to about 1/4 of the screen.
Replaced all 4 chassis transistors with 2N6259's. Seems like a deflection problem.
Pics up on www.zinfer.com/startrek.htm
Thanks for any help
Ok, fixed any evident damage to the paddleboard. Found a blown resistor at R736. Replaced- but no influence on the deflection or lack thereof on left screen deflection. I'm wondering now if it got into the Q703/Q704 transistors?
Was looking up replacements and I guess 2N6558's are obsolete.
References to NTE171 and MJE340. The NTE's are like over 2$ a piece where the MJE's are like 58 cents. Heard the NTE's run a bit hot.
Is the MJE340 really a good functional equivalent at that price?
And NTE240's at $5.00 a pop?? Sheesh
