Hi all,
I have a Williams Joust game that looks to have a matching numbers G07 monitor in it. I personnely have only seen or read about Wells monitors in early Williams games but was curious if they ran low at the beginning or at the end of production run?

G07's in Williams certainly aren't rare...

I've seen the 07's in my Moon Patrol, Joust, another guys Joust, and about a dozen others I've had my head in. I've seen WG monitors in them equally, my guess is that its about 50/50 for what type might be in there.

I don't have it handy, but Williams published a Monitor Guide around the time of Stargate that had WG4900 info on one side and if you flip it over it has G07 info. One of them was labelled as Type 'A' and the other as Type 'B'.

Cool thanks guys, Im sure there not rare but just never seen one. I will say the G07 in this joust is super bright (prob jacked the brightness) and looks great! I almost like the pic better than a wells joust right next to it.;)

Rest assured that a GO7 that's running half-assed will always look and perform better than a wells from the same era, the 4600 is close but still falls short. I have a GO7 with a few hours on it and all original caps. I have also had a 4900 with no hours on it and the picture still blows when put up against the GO7.

I don't mind 4600's but I hate the daughter cards that they use. I've thought just soldering the connectors straight to the board if it did not mkae the components so hard to service.
