Just wondering if it is OK to run a G07 without an ISO xformer. I have a xevious that has been converted to an aero fighters. The original Atari xformer block is in the bottom with the big blue cap, but I see no ISO and the AC goes direct to a 2 position molex on the G07. Now, this game works, so will it be OK to continue running it this way? I'm going to put my 60 in 1 in this cab cause the xevious art is excellent.

YES a G07 needs an iso. That transformer in the bottom does the isolation. If you are using the regular cabs power wire from that power brick, then it is isolated. If you are bypassing it, then it isn't...

I thought the original atari power bricks had iso's in them. As for the "is it Ok to run a go7 with no iso" question, the answer is no. I've seen a monitor run without an iso that was meant to have one. Worked for a while them blew a few traces right off the monitor PCB.

I'll add.....I've never had a G07 work for more than 5 seconds when ran without an isolation transformer. It's always ripped R902 apart.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if the original block had an iso in it. The transformer on the block is much bigger than the iso's I'm used to seeing. Thanks.

That's because it also steps down the various voltages for the ARII's, coin door lights, etc...
