I need to get a wider picture to fill out my screen. The chassis has been recapped and new width coil installed. B+ is at 120. With the width coil maxed out, I cannot get rid of a 3/4" black bar on one side. Doing a search, looks like I can change out a capacitor to get more screen size? Can someone let me know which cap and what value I should start off with?

I'm personally curious about 2 things:

1. What game is this monitor being used on?
2. Was this always a problem? Or was it working before the chassis was capped with a new width coil?

Its going into a POW cabinet. The monitor was part of a horde and needed rebuilt/repair. I tried a second width coil with same result.

I assume its the stock cap so from what read is to install a lesser value? How much less should I go yo start with?

I don't know how to look up these caps on Mouser.

I emailed Bob Roberts for one of their kits…but not sure if they are still responding to order requests.

Remember that you can make different capacitance values by series and parallel configurations.

security0001 has a great kit for sure. It is worth having one on hand.

If you want I can send you a cap or two to experiment with.

Got the cap kit in and tried two to different sizes to get it wider. I can now stretch it out to cover the whole screen, but I cannot get the picture moved far enough to left (looking from the backside). With the whole picture in place, I have about 3/4" of the picture off screen on the right. If there is a way to move the picture over, the width coil has the adjustment to adjust the picture to the whole screen.

There should be jumpers to the right which move the screen from left, center or right, depending which one you put the jumper on . It's located to the right of all the pots and it's screenprinted onto the chassis.

I had the jumper moved to the far left. The vertical frequency pot helped enough. I do get a little bit of curving at the top though. I'm calling it good enough.
