I have a old G07 chassis that came in a Street Fighter 2 I bought and I powered it on and it just had a small thin line going straight down the middle of the screen, the game would play and I could see graphics and colors changing but it was only a about 1/8th inch wide. I didn't do much with the chassis, I just sat it on the shelf for awhile, I starting inspecting it and it looks like the whole h-width coil was completely broken in half and the copper wire was broken also. Could this have caused the thin line down the monitor? I just ordered a cap kit and a new width coil, is there anything I need to know about installing a new width coil, is the a certain position it needs to be in, I think if will fit in the pcb 2 different way, which is correct. Thanks!!

It could be the horizontal width coil, and most likely the cause since you found it was broken. I am trying to remember what all goes when the horizontal output transistor goes. I think it takes out a fuse and won't display, but I am sure someone will correct me.
True, the coil needs to go back in a certain way. The horizontal width coil goes in with the wires coming down from the coil inserted closest to the blue shiny capacitor row. (maybe not shiny if covered in soot)

Im sure it is the coil that causing it, the guy I the game from said it worked fine and he dropped it moving and that show showed on the screen and thats the only thing I found that was broken and could cause that problem, I doubt its the tube or anything but if it is I have another g07 tube

The last few new replacement Electrohome width coils I got had the adjusting slug glued in place and would not turn.

Would they all be like this? Or just certain suppliers, I had one in my shopping cart at twistedquarter.com and I tried to check out and it said the item has been pulled and isnt showing on there website and 10mins ago it was

The horizontal width coil only goes in one way. You can force it to fit the wrong way but it should be obvious. The lugs are spaced differently. Look at the bottom of the chassis after you remove the old one and have cleaned out the old solder and it should be readily apparent. Your thin line could be a bad transistor as well as a bad cap.

The ones we had bad were all purchased from Penn-Ray before the tragic death of the owner.
