Hey all..! Just checking for some input here to see what to check next.
Had a G07 that had no neck glow, had a blown F901, HOT shorted and a blown flyback.
I replaced the flyback, transistors, width coil (there was nothing inside of the orginal width coil), and did a full cap kit. The monitor worked great after that! Ran it for a few hours, no problems.
After making sure all was OK, I decided to check the B+ voltage when I couldn't quite get the screen sized as I wanted. Powered off, attached clip leads to my meter, and measured. I think something must have touched somewhere (say, the other end of the clip leads attached to the meter, maybe? The positive lead brushing against the chassis?) Not sure what it was, or where because I heard a light snap, and no more picture.
F901 was blown; I replaced it. It stayed good, meters OK. F902 OK. All cabinet fuses meter OK. HOT is OK, flyback is good, the tube gets voltage since it discharges with a snap when I have taken the chassis out to look things over. Also, neither chassis transistor is shorted. I hear static on the tube when I power up.
-I currently get no neck glow
-My B+ currently tests around 158VDC
R901 (which sometimes I see listed as R1?) where you test the B+, however, something is odd there -- it shows a resistance of ~ 28ohms -- just to be sure, I tested the same part on a 13" G07 (same component, printed with same values), and it tests around 225ohm, which is about what it should be (marked as 220ohm). Is this component failed due to whatever the heck might have shorted? Or should I be looking further upstream at anything? Or is this R901 thing nothing at all..?
What else could be going wrong on here, and - for example, if R901 is zapped somehow and I *should* replace it - is there anything I should be looking at that would take out a replacement and zap it also?
Also, any hints or tips? Everything was working fine until some mystery zap happened lol.
Thanks for any ideas that you have.
