g07 was working, now crackling I think the neck cracked ?

Ok my g07 was working fine, I went to test it outside of the cabinet, and It worked. During shifting it back into the cabinet, I think the problem is that it leaned on it's neck, and may of damaged something. I never discharged the monitor.. Now when I turn it on it crackles very loud blue sparks where the neck glow would be. It's currently off of the monitor brackets, the chasi is basically drilled into the the cab seperated from the monitor. I see the PCB where the neckboard is and see high voltage sign, so I'm afraid to even touch it. I don't think it can even be discharged being that I took it off the metal brackets (and it's not grounded). Is it safe to pull the neck board off?

this is just a side question but does a monitor discharge it self after it's been sitting for an extended period of time?

1) Sounds like your tube is broken.

2) If you connected the wire from the tube to the neckboard, then the chassis was connected to the tube just fine, and you can discharge the tube by connecting your discharging jumper wire to the spring across the back of the tube and then sticking your screwdriver under the anode cup.

3) yes, a tube can discharge itself over time, or by design of the chassis. And it can regenerate one after discharge, too...
