G07 - R522 is smoking on power up...FIXED

Completely recapped chassis with new flyback and width coil. HOT and VR are good. B+ comes up a little low, but before I can adjust it, R522 starts smoking. This is a resistor in series between a flyback pin and D507. D507 is testing as normal, but I might replace it. Wondering what else to check. Unless the new flyback is bad, I'm not sure what else it could be. Don't see any cracks suggesting a parallel circuit that isn't pulling it's share of the load...

This actually just happened to me two days ago after a deluxe kit and new pots. Havnt looked into anything else yet. Let me know if you find out what your problem was.

Human error. The person who capped it installed C521 backwards. Because the cap was large enough to hide the polarity marking, I didn't catch it during my initial inspection. Once I started tracing the circuit - and the parallel entry points - I found it pretty quickly...

No kidding, the only time I have put a cap in backwards it exploded upon power up ..well not exactly explode, but it popped and poofed some smoke. It was in a WG K7400.
Good you found culprit quickly.
