Hey guys,
I have two boards that have brought back from the dead via a donor board, but neither are 100% working...yet. A bit of history, I have installed cap kits for both chassis. I have checked every single solder point, and re- flowed the suspects for both chassis. I removed and checked X301, X302, X303, X304, X305, and X306 for both chassis. I have checked the resistors known to be suspect for human error (R303, R306, R314, & R317) for both chassis. I have replace capacitor C303 with a 10uf 50v cap, and moved the C303 cap to C501 for both chassis. I have tried every combination of sync wire configuration, and have tried multiple game boards. I am about to replace IC501, but I only have one on the donor board, so if that does not work, then I am stuck. Please help. Any other suggestions.
Thanks guys,
Greg

What is the part number for the IC501 on Bob Roberts?

1) What board are you testing it with? Doesn't look like the Centipede it is sitting on.

2) Can't tell by your video, but show a close up pic of how the video connector is connected.

3) Usually you see this issue if you have the sync on the wrong polarity or a bad video ground, possibly on the connector or wiring itself. I recently had a similar issue and it turned out to be a broken wire INSIDE the insulation on the horizontal sync wire of my test rig. Having the exact same issue with two different chassis usually points to something other than the chassis. Connect it to a known working monitor to see if it's actually the chassis' having the problem...

This statement got me thinking; coupled with the fact that both chassis were having the EXACT same problem. I plugged one of the chassis in my 10 Yard Fight. The problem was with my testing rig, not the chassis. I am the proud owner of two working chassis...thanks for the inspiration. I owe you a beer (or two) next time I am in Austin.
