I have a G07 that the left bottom 1/4 of the screen has a upward slope. The top of the screen looks straight. The monitor looks to have recently been capped.

Thanks. I just tried the yoke and it will not adjust out. I can get the sides and top straight but the bottom will still be off. It's like the left side of the screen is shorter than the right. I did find that the horizontal width coil is broken. I'm not sure if that will cause the uneven screen.

Yes, that could be the problem.

Check on Bob Roberts website for the mod that relates to this issue. It has to do with moving an existing cap to a new position and replacing it with a new cap. I did the mod when I capped my GO7 and it removed the bend.

Good Luck,
R

You are referring to the curl mod or sync mod, and that is not the problem here.

It is not just a problem with the lower left, but if you look closely you'll notice that the top curves down slightly as well. This is called "keystoning". It's not easy to fix, and you may need to live with it, but you can try making both C517 and C518 a 220uF 16v cap. Normally, C517 is a 100uF 16v cap, but increasing it's size to 220uF 16v will help make it a bit more square...

Yes, try that. Whenever I recap a G07 I always make sure both of the C517 and C518 are 220 uf @ 25 or 35 volts. This generates a more squared picture and helps keep it that way as the caps age.

I Just pulled the chassis and replaced the coil, changed C517 to 220uf, and verified all the other caps are correct. Still have the same problem.

After too much time on this chassis I got another clean untested chassis from Nixs. Flyback was bad. I recapped replaced flyback, HOT and fuse. Installed it have a great picture but the same keystoning problem. Swaped yoke wires and problem moved from bottom left to top right. If yoke is bad problem should have stayed in the same area. Right? Could it be a problem with the tube?

Not necessarily. If you swapped the yoke wires, all you are doing is reversing the direction of the deflection. If it was messed up one the left before, it should now be messed up on the right, etc.

The next thing to try is swapping in a different yoke....
