degaussing coil loud when turning game on

so i never noticed this, but the g07 in my multi williams makes a buzz noise for like a millisecond when the game is initially turned on. kind of like older tube computer monitors used to make. is this a problem? doesn't do it when shut off and back on again right away. would this be the degaussing cable making noise? i'm not too concerned, as it is fine otherwise and has a great picture.

That'd be the degaussing coil. They only operate when the board is cold. There is a 2-pin connector from the chassis to the board, you could disconnect and start it cold - if the sound doesn't occur, you know for sure.

that's what i thought it might be. wanted to see if anyone chimed in with anything else. pic's decent so i don't really feel like rebuilding the monitor yet. is this usually a symptom of a not plugged in all the way degaussing connector or anything bad?

so, i pulled out the game and determined it is the degaussing coil. is there anything i can do to quiet it down at all? it's kind of annoying when flipping on the game...

b+ was slightly high at 124v so i bumped it down to 120. still there, and all grounds are present and accounted for as well as the degauss to neckboard ground, and the degaussing cable is plugged in properly. if this is normal, let me know and i'll stop bothering with it. just weird that none of my other monitors (including 2 g07s) do this.

It's perfectly normal. It makes the sound for what...a tenth of a second? You have two choices:

1) deal with it.

2) unplug it.
