Simple question, got a G07 that takes 5-7 minutes for the picture to come in. Is this tube going south, or is it the board? I know caps wil improve the board, but I dont want to mess with it if the tubes going out. One thing, its been probably several years (minimum) since its been turned on before today

Not sure if monitors are the same way, but if you were sleeping for several years, you wouldn't just jump out of bed would you?

Thanks Dave, Ill add a kit to my next order to Bob. I just didnt want to cap it if I was just going to have to put in a new monitor anyway

Keep in mind that the filter cap does NOT come in any version of the cap kit, and must be ordered by itself in addition to the cap kit.

Got it wrote down on my list, cap kit plus filter cap :D
and hey, it's a GO7. totally worth saving that chassis even if the tube is shot.
My thoughts exactly, my reason for wanting to save this one

did you order the deluxe kit with the flyback and HOT? these are legendary how weak they get and a lot of times installing new componentry will stress them to breaking(or exploding like one or 2 GO7 chassis I had just capped)

Yes - you better order the deluxe kit.

Every G07 I capped ends up blowing the flyback if it is original after a couple of days. I don't even do a cap kit with an original flyback anymore - just replace it all.

the g07 in my ms pac is all original(except the tube that was swapped due to heave, heavy pac burn)

it takes about a minuite to warm up and display an image

Untill it gets worse, im not touching it :D

ok, make it a deluxe with flyback and hot. Took this one quite a bit longer than a minute to start up. I bought it as a dead game, and actually had it turned on and was using the multi on the back trying to see what was wrong, and had correct voltage everywhere. Was starting to scratch my head wondering what was wrong with it when it finally came alive:eek:
