Working on a Pac restore and put a new crt in to replace the burnt one it had in the G07. The chassis has had a recent capkit, but it has an odd keystone issue. It is compressed on the right side only slightly.. Since I hardly ever work on raster monitors, not sure what could cause this as have never seen it before. Both the old and new crt show it.. I thought it may have been a crt issue with the old one.

Could it be a yoke issue? When I took the yoke off to clean, it looks like it has 2 small magnets taped inside to the coils. I have never seen these on a yoke before.. would these have been there for the old crt covnergence and should be removed, or do all G07 yokes have these? Not talking about the strips.. these are small magnets taped right to the coil windings inside.

I haven't seen magnets ever on a G07, although I have only worked on about 8 or 9 of them. But I also haven't seen them on a 4600 or a 4900 either.

I see the white strips alot. Does this have any strips?

I would pull them and see if you can get correct adjustment without them.

-Yes the yoke is fairly close to proper angle but I have not converged yet.
-This is a new crt, so no strips in it.

-Ken, found a thread on google where you mentioned those caps. C518 I beleive it was, was 100uf so I put in a 220. Seemed to help a fair amount, but I think I can still see some keystoning.. should I go higher on one, or both of them? If so to what value and/or which one? Have you seen those little magnets (I'k assuming thats what they are) taped to the inside of the yoke? Should I remove those?

Check/replace electrolytic caps C412 and C408. It gets pretty hot where they are located.

Also, have the width coil and flyback been replaced? I've seen this symptom also happen with an original flyback just before it crapped out.
