Couple months ago I fixed up a G07 chassis I've had for years and tried to pair it with a new tube with a yoke I modified. It was good enough for testing but the horizontal was off enough where I got some pretty bad linearity issues when pushed to actually fill the screen. (Note this is in a mirror, so squishing is on the right side)
I have the original yoke and purity rings for the G07, but I've heard there can be issues with it's yoke not fitting on most newer tubes.
Enter a supposedly working K4600 I picked up for $50 last week.
I'm still working on cleaning it up (absolutely filthy) and doing a cap kit.
I'm wondering if I can do a bit of musical chairs here with the following plan
1. Put donor TV with CR-23 and 8.2 x 3.2 ohm yoke into the K4600. Possibly doing a yoke swap if there are issues
2. Put the G07 yoke on the K4600 tube
3. Celebrate having a clean new K4600 and a lightly burned G07
Does that sound reasonable? Anyone know if the K4600 yoke has issues fitting on newer tubes like the G07 does?
