Ive got a SH machine that may have needed a cap kit so I had that done. The initial reason for doing it was because I had a half screen size vertical line on the right hand side of the screen. It goes up about 1/2 way and stops it looks like a candy cane that it about 2 pixels wide. I've tried to adjust it out. Could it be the fly back causing this??? I always thought they either work or don't work. Thoughts on it be the fly back........

Thanks in Advance

Mike Martin

I'd be surprised if it's the flyback. You sure about the cap kit? Possible you got a wonky cap in there regardless, or bad solder on one of the pots.

Pic of what it's doing?

I doubt that's a fly prob. When they fail, they fail hard...sometimes with sparks, and smoke, sometimes with taking a few components with them.
My guess from what you are describing is a cap.
Please post a pic....

Yup i thought the op could have been talking about that, my tron has it so SH could as well

If thats the case just adjust your vertical size til its gone

Thanks for the replays. I'll check it out today. It's at the shop getting this work done so I'll have to take a photo and post it today. It may have to go home with me today. When we adjust it over it seems to make the "artifact" brighter for 1 pixel on the right. Even if we move it off screen something else is messed up. So nobody thinks it could be a Flyback correct??

Yep, I have it on both TRON and Satan's Hollow. I was told years ago that it is normal for many vertical MCR games.

I went to my first auction in Winston Salem NC this weekend and saw a TRON with the exact same problems. I spoke to several people there. They said the same thing. One guy said he used the black tape method. That made me smile. Thanks So Much Everybody

Consider this one done and dusted.

Just my two cents..

I have a Satan's Hollow with a Wells Gardner 4900 series monitor. I assume you're referring to the blue dashes along the right edge of the screen (only visible on the black screens, not the main game screen - at least for me), then you can see it here in my video of replacing the power supply to a switcher. You can see it starting at about the 1:00 mark in the video.

I tried to adjust that out, but then you end up cutting of the left edge of the screen a bit, so I left it.
