Can it be done?

Have a perfectly good G07 in a vertical frame but am wanting to drop it in a cocktail cab for a multicade. The cab has no monitor frame and I can't find a G07 cocktail frame anywhere (PM me if you have one though!). I can get a WG cocktail frame locally for a reasonanble - hence my question.

Thanks...

The only "problem" should be engineering a way to mount the monitor board on the new frame. Some drilling, spacers, screws, and possibly cutting required depending on the frame. Just make sure all the bare electrical components are clear of the frame and there is room for everything in the cabinet before dropping it in place. Be careful unbolting and rebolting the tube. Safest is probably to loosen the bolts, then set the tube face down on a blanket, finish removing the bolts, and lift the frame off. Reverse the process for the new frame.

dont the GO7's have an annoying curl in the picture from the multicade PCB's?
test it first before you bolt it down etc.

Yes it can be done. You just have to make sure you have standoffs to keep the bottom of the chassis from shorting to the frame. Get some plastic standoffs, drill holes in the frame somewhere to match holes already in the chassis, and bolt it to the frame that way.

Or you could just ask for somebody to give you a G07 horizontal frame...

I have a horizontal frame from a HAPP vision pro when I swapped it to the G07 vertical, but the cocktail frame sits a couple of inches into the cab with the 4 frame bolts bolting to it in a recessed fashion, no?

Since you haven't mentioned which cocktail cab you're trying to put this into...

But I'll assume you mean a Pac/Galaga style? yes, it sits a little lower in, with a plastic monitor bezel and tinted plexi above it underneath a glass top.

If you don't have that special frame that was made for that purpose, you can make standoffs yourself out of metal brackets or wood bracing. I think the frame mounts needs to stand off about 2-2.5".

Here are a few pics of a universal-mount Vision Pro mounted into a cab using wood standoffs. It's not the same frame, but you should get the idea...

Great reference material - thanks!

This is good shape "Pinbo" cocktail cab... in my opinion, a rather rare gem... but I could be mistaken.
