I've been told that D501 and D502 (HO damper diodes?) are omitted from a 1981 G07-CBO (used in a cocktail Pacman) by the factory. I believe that. The solder is still like it was when it left the factory.
I don't understand why they wouldn't be used. I'm not a monitor tech by any means, but to omit a basic design part that's been used in so many TV designs seems kinda strange.
I'm kinda thinking Edwin Muntz amy have been involved in the electrical design....
I'm not going to redesign a 30 year old monitor but I would love to know why the parts would be silk screened onto the pcb and incorporated into a schematic but then get left out of the build. Normally you would find some type of note on the schem that says somthing about omitted parts. Can anyone shed some light?
