Well heres what my Centipede looks like as of tonight. Pulled the chassis and found a bad solder joint on one of the ceramic resistors (R401 IIRC). Touched it up, put it in and that seemed to fix it. About an hour later and its back at this screen. Pulled the chassis again, found a few more bad solder joints and a damaged trace, touched all that up, put it in, still having the issue.

This monitor has all new caps and a new flyback in the last year or so. Width Coil is fine. The game also has a new big blue and rebuilt ARII which is irrelivant anyway, I can put another monitor in this sucker and it works fine. Definitely a chassis issue.

Any ideas?

Yes I have, neck board looks fine. FR401 is reading 69 ohms so I doubt its the culprit. Ill try replacing X401 & X402 and see what happens. Any other typical culprits I should look at?

Check D401 also.
If I recall correctly
X401 drives the right side of the screen, X402 drives the left side......
My vote is on X402

If you don't have a replacement, Swap X401 with X402, and see if the issue changes sides.... That'll tell you real quick what is up.
