OK. Not that I'm NEED to use it right away, I was just looking through some old boards and had some old Viewsats that have 2a 250v in them. Didn't know if that was usable or not. Some of these things that go are not easily available at the local hardware store or electronics store. Just like the 1uf@250v cap I managed to find yesterday by fluke.
A lot of people who have problems finding those small pigtail fuses will just mount a normal fuse holder on the outside wall with wires going to the fuse holes. Then you can just put an easier-to-find standard-size fuse in it. Also makes it easier to swap out if you need to. Just don't forget to discharge the filter cap before trying to change out that fuse......
These days I change out the pigtail fuse for a mini fuse holder. Mini fuses are readily available in many places, whereas you have to usually order pigtail fuses.
If you work on lots of monitors. Electronix has the pigtail fuses cheap. 59 cents (5 pack) for the small ones (GMP) and 49 cents (5 pack) for the large ones (GJV). I just ordered a pack or 2 of each.
