I as in a hurry to test a game with a bad g07 so I swap a good chassis one in there no pic little buzzing then I realized I forgot to hook up the anode!

so i powered all down and it hooked up -- nothing.....

so what did I fry when the anode was unhooked? I sure some else must have done this before (maybe not admit it!)

I did hook it back up - but nothing...
I checked the fuse still good
I tried turning up screen nothing.
I don't notice the static sound on power up of the juice going in -- it seems dead, but discharging the tube there was definitely juicing going in got a good pop
can't really tell if there neck glow its pretty filthy
I'll mess around a bit more -- maybe the tube is bad? doesn't look necked obviously

The old chassis was def broke as I was pulling out I'm guessing the filter cap discharge loud as pop glad I wasn't touch the frame when it hit it!
the anode cap just fell off so they may not had had it clipped in either... (I totalyl forgot mine so it was hangin in free space near nothing...)

You didn't kill the tube by not hooking the anode up. Possible that it was dead before, but not probable if no physical damage. Only way to check is with a rejuver.

Look over the chassis carefully and try to find any burnt parts. Some areas of the pcb will look burnt, but that's normal, you're looking for burnt/exploded parts

I just tried in the dark and its working I adjusted up the screen made sure everything was connected. The chassis I was testing was working just not recapped or rebuilt so not a great picture but was able to get it going -- I couldn't see the pic before maybe I had the screen down when it when the anode was disconnected or something. Glad it worked cause I know the game board is good!

I've done this before, there are two transistors in the middle of the board and I cooked off one of them. I didn't have any high voltage either after my screw up as well. Good luck!

I had to change out 2 fuses on a Go7 once and after that I picked up a few fuze holders for those things just in case it happened again down the line and it did. I got lucky a few times too because the first time I forgot you had to discharge the filter cap if the fuze was blown and nothing happened, the second time I was about to unsolder it before i remembered and luckily saved myself from a nice zap.

I have this weird tendency to ground the chassis to the monitor frame, whilst holding it by the edges, and it not doing anything to me.

it's really cool when I use my flatheads to discharge the cap manually though. I get commoners to witness it.

I am reading all these stories tonight for a laugh about B+ filer cap discharge. I almost pissed myself two nights ago, glad to hear its not uncommon. And I shouldn't be embarrassed if I threw my undies away "just because".
