G07 - Centipede - Crooked screen - Help me dial this puppy in!

I have a fresh capped & tested monitor I bought from Chris. I have not yet adjusted this bad boy. It displays the picture crooked like the whole screen is twisted to the right.

I don't want to mess with a bunch of different controls trying to solve this issue myself. It is so unnecessary because of all the guys/pros that are here.

Can you help me dial this puppy in the right way? Here is a little video to kick off this thread.

Turn your sound down because my pos nikon is making a clicking sound.

Tia guys!

I swear sometimes I think its just the bottom words 1980 ATARI that are crooked.

Can't tell by the video but if the picture is "turned" then the yoke needs to be adjusted. Loosen the screw on the yoke base a little and carefully turn the yoke which ever way and then retighten screw. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREW!! You could crack the neck so just snug it. Hope this helps! :D

Note: Wear gloves while doing this if you are not familiar with monitor hazards like high voltage areas.

Okay thanks for that tip very interesting and makes sense!

Here is another video and it is still crap. My 3.2 megapixel isn't cutting it anymore.

You can see the words ATARI at the bottom are crooked as hell. It might just be my perception on the rest of the screen because it just doesn't look as crooked as the bottom.

I am not going to touch this thing tonight. I will wait till tomorrow and do finial adjustments.

Any others thoughts on dialing this go7 in the best I can?

Ha! still can't see shit! Anywho I'm sure it's a G07-CBO and as far as dialing it in it looks ok from what I can tell but a tune up with a new flyback, HOT, and cap kit never hurts and is pretty cheap at Bob's. ;)

It would be worth the trouble to try another monitor or spare board first if you have one. My Centipede looked like yours and it turned out to be the board. One of the copper traces at the edge connector looked a little burned.
When I swapped out G07's, the curl was still there. When I switched boards, the curl went away. Just a suggestion before you start messing with the monitor.

Chris already did every thing this one needed. It's minty fresh lol! I will snap some pictures of the chassis tomorrow to make sure. It just needs to be dialed in like he says with every monitor he sells on here and ebay. I did buy this one a few months back before he started selling everything off. I just haven't had time to adjust it up yet.

Gotcha, you should be all set then. If it is a curl it could be the board or the chassis needs a curl mod which I'm not 100% if Chris does this on the boards he fixes. The yoke tip was if the picture is square but in a whole is turned a bit, won't help a curl.

What he said to a T - the yoke is turned ever-so-slightly, takes 2 seconds to correct.

Ok guys I will give it a shot in the morning.

Thanks for your time!

Well we turned the yoke and have the screen perfect. The two player scores are lined up real nice. However the darn 1980 Atari at the bottom of the screen is still not straight. Its running down hill to the right on the attract screen. It does look fine when playing a game.

So I am not to sure if I can adjust just the attract screen only? Any ideas on how to get that issue fixed?

Anyway you half to be a contortionist to adjust any thing monitor wise on a G07 while its in the centipede cab. My girl got a nice little zap from trying.

So how in the heck can you get the monitor adjusted in an easy manner?

I also notice some snow on the screen once in awhile. Any ideas on that?

I just gotta ask

Why do all your videos have that clicking sound, like buttons are being pressed constantly.

Second, who is this girl you always mention, seems like she does alot of the work :) Never seen a picture of her.

Dude, the picture looks fine LOL! You must be a perfectionist, just play the damn thing. :)

From what I have seen in your video, the H Freq is off just a touch which is most likely causing your curl.

1) Idk I think my nikon or sd memory in the nikon has gone bad. It's not the arcade games. I have another cam or three but haven't opened up the right box yet. I am going to buy another cam anyway but haven't come to grips with my 3.2 mp nikon being obsolete.

2 ) She does most/all of the work. I have almost recovered from a broken leg that I got in march. The leg has healed but all the ligaments that make up an ankle have not. Maybe she will do a tit shot?

The game does play fine and looks ok. It looks weird being crooked like that. Every time I walk by it... I say (Need a V8) ?

Ah thanks Dokert. I will certainly adjust that just as soon as figure out to get to them. I think I am in need of an extended monitor/power harness.
