long story short, found 1.25amp 125v fuse blown on monitor chassis replaced fuse and fired her up. about 3 seconds later boom. flyback exploded in half. bad flyback? or other problems? voltage reg? any help on this would be great. thanks bill

Just put the bob roberts delux kit on it and you SHOULD be good to go.....
Most likely that is.....
If not, it'll narrow the problem list waaaaay down.

Ahhhh, new fly, HOT, and VR should do the trick, or at least be a good place to start...

Original fly or was it a new replacement? If its original, yeah.. It's time for a new one.. Heh

Replacement, then get your money back

Guess thats why they say "if you cap a G07, you should also put on a new fly"
Good luck!

Hey fyi, it IS possible something else was damaged when the fly died...but the fly DEF needs replaced

Yes.... the problem was the flyback, but it may have blown something else up when it itself decided to blow up. Probably just your HOT though.

It's always neat to see one of those that has actually blown in half. Just reminds you of how much power these suckers have running through them.

After this much time the original flybacks are just waiting to go anyway. Hopefully it didn't take (much of) anything out when it went.

replaced the flyback, and the 1.25amp fuse. stood back and fired it up. perfecy picture. all is good. thanks for the help/replys.
