I was wondering if anyone can help with a g07-Cho degaussing circuit that blows a fuse right away. Followed the circuit and I am missing something. Everything checks good from the 870 to the 1106 to the new fly back and surrounding resistors and caps. I need some help if anyone has any advice. With my meter in diode mode on a working g07 leads connected to degaussing pins I get 1.342 then it dissipates to 0 quickly. On bad chassis it stays at 1.342 and never dissipates.

Maybe your PTC is bad and not opening up? The degauss circuit is only supposed to run briefly so if the PTC isn't cutting the current it'll blow a fuse.

I had this happen to one if mine out of nowhere. I just don't plug in the degauss any more. Someday I'll fix it.

Most of the time it doesn't need it. But yeah I could use a degauss ring if necessary.

Thanks for the good advice I will try it. I only tested it to see a short but forgot it is supposed to turn off right away.
So the pic only opens and stays open while power is applied then, correct? And after turned off it goes back to closed state?
