monitor still runs

blew about a month ago, I replaced it, it just blew again

this is on the tails of me mis-installing a couple of diodes and then having to go back and reinstall them correctly. Not sure if it's relevant. Not sure if I just got 2 bad caps (unlikely?)

chassis runs perfectly with the blown up mess in there, lol.

What is the value that you are putting in there?

The Parts List has it as 1uf @ 200V, but the Schematics has it as 1uf @ 250V.

Looked at my Spare Chassis, and it is 250V in there.

whatever bob sends in his kits. I'm fairly certain it's 250v

Interesting this happened to me today
It definitely quit blowing up , eventually... back when this happened. I just made sure I installed new diodes in that section. It's the section right of the heatsinks. I remember making the mistake of installing the diode backwards.

funny sidenote- I don't remember the monitor working with that cap blown up (it must have if I typed that it did), but I do know............If you don't have the 1uf 50v cap in there (C504), it totally
messes up the image with misshapen squiggly-ness.

So as I'm working on it, it ran for about 10 minutes then the cap blew. But the image never changed so it does work. I just don't know how long.

I do remember that I didn't just leave it unpopulated . I installed 1n4007 diodes in the 2 spots just to the right of the heatsinks. It quit blowing up caps after that.
