So I just recently repaired a G07-CAO chassis. It was basically fried, bad HOT, fly, a few bad resistors and a blown F901. I'm still having a couple of issues with it though. One is it doesn't really want to keep from rolling vertically. I can lock it in but the pot is extremely sensitive and if you turn the monitor off then back on it starts to slightly roll again. I think it may be related to the Vert sync transistors X302 and X306 but haven't tested them yet.
The other problem is the pic is too far over to the left, I have maxed out the horizontal width adjustment and the horizontal center adjustment. It just won't move any further. I have not capped it but the pic looks great other than these issues. Could this simply be a cap issue? Also, does anyone know if there is a CBO equivalent curl mod that can be done to this chassis?

OK, I capped it and it seems a little better but the best I can get it is still about 2 inches from the right of the screen. In other words, there is a 2 inch gap between the pic and the edge of the monitor. Any ideas?

It's going to work one way or another!
What game is it on?
Try it on the left and then use the width coil.
then try it on the right, if that doesn't work, and adjust.

Hope it helps. Just went through it myself recently...

It's actually not in any game yet. I'm currently using a JROK board to test it with.
On a CBO chassis there is a Vert center and a Horiz center on this CAO chassis I only see a Vert center. Will changing this affect the screen from left to right? Or am I missing the Horizontal center adjust somewhere?
I'm gonna go try tweaking everything again.
Thanks for your replies so far Kraj.

Right inbetween the R504 (horizontal hold) and the flyback are the vert centering tabs. You should be able to move them over and test pic.

OK, you stated 2 inches from the edge of the screen and the pic. Also, using a JROK pcb, I just put 2 and 2 together. I was picturing (without pictures of course!) using the monitor as horizontal and meaning that the vertical was off center (because it's now horizontal). Oh boy! :)

Can you post a pic?

Ha Ha, No problem man. I was thinking I should have said it was running horizontal. Yeah, Give me a min and I'll post a pic.

OK, Here's a couple pics.
The first is what it looks like if I leave the Hfreq turned all the way clockwise and cycle the power. It stays that way until I back it off then I can again turn it fully clockwise.
The second is the reason I'm having to turn it fully clockwise. This is the best I can do as far as H centering. I think capping it helped with the vert roll but I think when you select a game it starts to roll. Weird!

Man, I was hoping someone knew what was causing this.
I haven't really worked on it because I didn't wanna end up kicking the CRT in with my foot.
Anybody know what to check next?
