G07 Blows F901 on Startup

I think a short in the deflection circuitry can cause this if fusible resistor 401 (FR401) has replaced with a non fusible resistor.

I took a look and the FR401 looks correct. It is the white rectangular type - 68 ohms, 2 watts. How is this tested?

just like a resistor

I appreciate the help. I assumed that but wanted to double check. I get 5.63K ohms for R908. I get 68 ohms for FR401. I have another chassis and I checked that one too and got 8.65K ohms for R908 and the same for FR401. Am I correct that the R908 should be about 47K ohms?

the big white resistor that the VR hooks to...

with nothing hooked to it i get around 220 ohm
with the white wire hooked to the VR i get about 30ohm
with all wires hooked up properly i get about 10-15 ohm..

i checked out a couple working chassis i have here and i should be able to measure 220 ohm with everything hooked up...this has got to be causing my short, but what?

the VR tests good, diode setting, red to case of VR and black to frame i get .463 and is brand new..

Replace your VR, it is bad. You should be reading something with 4 digits.

got the VR figured out, wiring was causing some problems, got a good 220ohm on the white resistor now....fuse f901 (small fuse) still pops......not fun
