Well still trying to get my monitor to work in my Frogger.

On power up the F901 will glow for a sec or two and then blow.
Kind of a pain since it's soldered in.

The Yoke plugs seemed to be in the wrong order, so I soldered in a new fuse and arranged the plugs this time as #1 Red, #3 Grey, #4 White, #5 Brown,
The had the plugs as #1 White, #3Brown, #4 Red, #5 Grey

I thought that might've been the problem..But it still blew the fuse.

The neck did glow for a second before blowing the fuse also.

Where would you do from here?
The flyback looked OK? (I did get the neck glow for a second and some crackle noise)

Would you replace the X01? Flyback? something else?

Thanks,
Steve

HOT 2SD869
Test it, then replace it after you determine it is bad.

I usually see 2SD870's on the G07, or NTE89's, but I think the 2SD869 will work.

And your yoke wires weren't wrong, just flipped....

2SD870's and NTE89's are both valid replacements for 2SD869's

Well actually, it should be stated that a 2SD869 or an NTE89 are both valid replacements for a 2SD870.

After all, the G07 manual specifically states that the horizontal drive transistor is a 2SD870 for a 19" G07 and a 2SD869 for a 13" G07...

Thanks guys. I just tested the 2SD869, by grounding the black meter lead to the chassis and touching the red lead to the case of the transistor with my meter on ohms. I get a reading of 7.34

Did I test it correctly? What does that mean? Good or bad?

Thanks,
Steve

Test it with the diode test. It's a transistor, not a resistor.

Still, I can't remember but I think there is a low value resistor on the chassis connecting two of the leads, so that might not be the best way....

OK, on the Diode setting I get a reading of 0.8
Guess I'm not sure if I'm testing it right or not, But I will order a new one from Bob Roberts tonight.

How about the Flyback? DId that sound ok, since I got a neck glow for a second before the fuse blow?

thank you,
Steve

.8 sounds okay.

If you still have an original flyback, then you might as well try replacing it as it may be bad.

If you're going to order from Bob, get this one for $38. It'll have just about everything you could need....

Touche' :D

I believe .8 is pretty marginal isn't it?
