So I had a dead virgin g07 with a blown 901. I did a the usual...cap kit...Fly and hot.

Fired it up and now blows 902.

Replaced the fuse...triple checked the caps for polarity (c302 is misleading...screen wrong on the top of the PCB...checked it against another g07 and it was correct). Spent about an hour looking for bridged solder connection..comparing it to a working g07 Didn't hook up the degauss or ground...check d901-904 (all good) and 902 blows immediately on power up.

Tried a different working g07 chassis using the same tube..ISO and degauss stuff...everything works fine

The only thread I could find on the 902 was here...http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=157816&highlight=g07+fuse+902

Didn't really tell me anything

Any ideas?

I could've sworn they were right on the TOP of the PCB, but wrong on the bottom? Either way, I'm not sure how that would mess with the bridge. ... regulator maybe?

Well that certainly would be wierd as I capped 2 G07s at the same time...both have the caps in the same direction. Can someone confirm? I got the neg towards the filler cap

c302 is screened wrong on the solder side, top side is correct so the cap should be facing negitive away from filter cap.

So c302 was installed wrong in both chassis'..amazingly the one works fine.

So i installed a new c302 the correct way and now I'm blowing 901.

The HOT new...and not shorted to the chassis..and test fine. The fly is new.

Is it possible I got a bad new fly? I do have another...half tempted to pull the HOT and fly...and stick another pair in there

On a side note when I removed the chassis this time..it was the first time I got a discharge from filler cap. Shit still makes me jump.

Pull the new HOT and tested it against a 'newer' HOT. It wasn't shorted to chassis but it was bad. Kinda wondering if it was bad when I got it or if I fried it somehow

Replaced and all is fine

Now onto a 4900 with sync issue
