I finished a BR deluxe repair kit, replaced R908, replaced C904, double checked orientation of caps and solder joints. Made sure all wires were connected properly. As soon as I turned it on, fuse 901 blew. I have no idea what to look for next. This is my first go around at this.

Check the HOT. Yes, you installed a new one. Yes, it may have already blown. Set meter to Ohms, black lead to frame, red lead to the case of the HOT. High resistance = good, shorted = bad.

I used a different transformer. Powered up. Now has horizontal line across middle of screen.

No vertical picture

Is there anything else I can check? All solder joint good. How do you check X401 and X402?

Getting frustrated

Resoldered connections, now no pic and B+ is at 170 with 2-3 volt adjustment. If c904 is backwards, would it even power up? The replacement really has no true markings on it. Has dotted lines 45* from one leg.

Back to the beginning

Resolder connections. Followed Randys flow chart. Hot was bad. Had one laying around, tested good. Now fuse 901 blows again. Will order new hot. If that doesn't fix it, it gets shelved. This one has kicked my a$$. Thanks to all that have helped.
