OK - I have a frustrating issue with a 13" G07 FBO monitor.
I have a Pacman cabaret with a 13" FBO. I rebuilt the chassis when I first got it (fly, cap kit from Bob, width coil, HOT) because it had curling in the lower right hand corner of the monitor was curling/waving. After I rebuilt, it still had the curl issue, and now the image would not fill the entire screen. There was about 1 1/2 –2" on the top and bottom. Again, this was not an issue before I rebuilt it. I also changed out the pin caps again (517/518) with Nichikons to see if they were just bad in the kit for some reason. Still had a slight curl on the right side. This was not an H-freq issue. All game maze lines were as straight as can be.
Instead of capping it again, I got a second chassis from a KLOVer. It was working great and filled the entire screen, just as it was supposed to. Only issue with it was that it had pretty bad curl in the bottom right again – worse than the first chassis. So my guess is this is a common issue with these but I don'y know, I am certainly 2 for 2 with curl. I just got done recapping and putting a new flyback in this chassis. Now I get the same symptoms as the first, it won't fill the entire screen. I get a 1 1/2 to 2" gap on top and bottom. Since this did not do this before I capped, it, I have to assume there is an issue with the kit. I got both kits from Bob, installed them exactly according to the instructions and have had this issue twice now. It is possible it is operator error, but unlikely, I am pretty comfortable with cap kits - and both chassis work and give me a good image otherwise.
There is no curl mod for the FBO and Bob doesn't include the xtra cap for it. I have also adjusted the width coil as much as can be and still didn't fix it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
