G05-802 build

[GA61XX]

Ok.. been on the hunt for parts & nearly got all needed
received my G05-802 frame today with yoke
have a NOS tube & would like to know how hard up to the back of the tube i need to fit the yoke on the neck ?
seen a few photo's & looks hard up to the back
no wedges like i have on my color Raster monitors
any help will be great

I realize that some of this information is a mix of both raster and vector as well as static and dynamic but the dynamic convergence will apply to both. Lots of info in both.

You want to slide it back until you get a clear picture. There is no convergence on a b/w monitor, as there is only one gun.

Just find the sweet spot.

Once again I open mouth and insert foot. Thanks for the clarification. Its one thing to feel comfortable doing the work, its another to Properly explain it so others can.

i have been buying the parts & shipping what i need to build (hard to find them here in Australia)
the yoke i have looks to have glue/silicon on the coils that would indicate it was up close/hard to the back of the tube..
so fit the yoke & slide it to get best picture .. Cool.. easy ..
will keep this thread open as i get each part & do the final build..

In general they're relatively close to the tube. You could start with it where you think it should be, and then adjust from there.
