I have noticed that on some 801's, in the HV cage at R906 (hidden behind the flyback) there is a 1 ohm resistor between Q903 and the flyback acting like a fuse , in others it is hard wired( and looks factory) . Personally, I don't think hard wiring that one is a good idea as there is no protection for the flyback . Has anyone actually considered removing the wire and putting in a 1 ohm resistor there ? As we all know, these flybacks are impossible to get now.

I have seen two of these 1 ohm resistors fry now. I am also wondering if we should be encouraging people to check their cages and put 1ohm resistors in if theirs is wired.

Did replacing this resistor ever fix a failed 801 cage for anybody?? Chad at Arcadecup does reproduce these flys now for around $65.
