Ive got this Asteroids that Ive been trying to get up and hoping to bring it to the Portland show next weekend.
Finally got something on screen after a recap on the HV board both other boards came from QA as tested and working.

Hoping this is a common problem or adjustment someone can point me in the right direction with.

If those are actually video dots moving over the entire screen, then I'd say you've got a game PCB problem, not a monitor problem.

If those aren't actually dots, I'd say we can't tell if it's a monitor or game PCB problem, 'cause it could be either.

I see an Asteroids Deluxe in the reflection; if it works, put the monitor from it into the Asteroids and see if it does the same thing.

I'm guessing an issue in the Y-axis of the game PCB.

those are fire dots
I dont have the cp on so I cant start the game so that would be atract mode shown.
no monitor in the AD in the reflection :(

If those are fire dots, that tells me that the monitor is capable of deflecting anywhere on the screen. The upshot is that it would seem to be a PCB issue.

What do you get in test mode?

Check your vertical deflection fuse. It's one of the two pico-fuses on the deflection board. Though they might have been moved to inline on the yoke hookup wires (mine were).

In that case, put this monitor into the AD. If my theory is correct, the monitor is more-or-less fine, and if the AD PCB is good, you should be able to determine if the monitor is OK or not (I think it is).

There are test points on the PCB for "COIN", and "START1" you can use to coin it up and start a game w/o a CP. Put a jumper on a GND test point, then touch the one for the "button" you wish to press.
