I got my 801 working tonight, by very cleverly replacing the entire deflection board and regulator. Amazing how well that worked. ;)

Anyway, on to my question. According to the schematics, the deflection board should have a pair of pico-fuses, one for each deflection output. On my deflection boards, both have been replaced with jumpers, and there are a pair of inline fuses in the yoke harness. Was this a mod, or did they ship this way?

The 801 manual just lists the fuses as 2-amp pico fuses. Should they be fast or slow-blow?

Thanks!

Jim

I have had 801 deflections with the jumper instead of a fuse. I'll chaulk it up to Atari cost cutting.

My current Asteroids have the jumpers. One I had in the past had the fuses and from what I remember, they were slo-blow.

BTW, was the beagle a 12 or 18? I have 6 18s for hunting. Some sick people giving antifreeze to a dog.
