From what I understand, Wei-ya makes these under contract to Makvision to Makvision's specifications.
Aside from being cheap, and all these replacement chassis being almost identical, I would like to find a solution to the H width problems. There are so many caps in that circuit that seem unnecessary.

I recall there being a cap on the k7000's that you could change that would effect horizontal width. I wonder if these boards have a similar circuit? The pot on the remote board works but just doesn't shrink the screen small enough, right?
Pretty much every monitor has that circuit somewhere. The trick is finding the proper part to change. If you have a schematic, you can look at where those parts are located on the models that we know about (G07,K4600, K4900, K7000) then check that area of the schematic of the Makvision to try to indentify which part it most likely is. I've had luck with that method before...
