Brought home an MK3 that has a perfectly fine image. I pull the board to put another MK board in then I have a fuzzy image. Put the other board back and its still fuzzy. Pulled the chips better but still fuzzy. Had a Rampage with same issue pulled chips and that fixed it. Assuming its not a board issue.

*It appears to get considerably worse as time passes turned on

*UPDATE* Assumption Flyback issue. Can get the focus back but over a period of time it gets worse. Please advise if this is the path to follow.

I assume you can adjust the focus on the flyback and get it better, but it drifts after the game is on?

What kind of monitor is it? K7000's are kind of notorious for doing this - especially if it has the flyback with the white knobs.

if the focus or brightness changes on their own, your flyback's going bad. which means you need to discontinue powering it up immediately and replace the flyback. probably not the easiest of jobs to do if you're new to this, but if you have soldering skills and especially a tool for sucking solder, and a little bit of creativity a flyback replacement isn't that difficult to do.

next logical step is to identify what kind of monitor you have in there.

It is a K7400 - P763. It "was" basically floating towards fuzzy overtime after adjustment. Left it on today and it didn't do it. To be preemptive I will replace the flyback and cap it. I am new to the monitor work yet you have to start somewhere. I have a k7000 that needs a new flyback so I will work there first.

Thanks for the help.
