NEW Future Home of Galaxy Blue

I probably wouldn't make it through the opening answering machine sequence before turning it back to ancient aliens.
That's criminal. If you absolutely must bail on Rockford, you need to at least listen to the theme song first. It's required listening!

Outdoor/lake news today. I had bought a 1997 Yamaha Wave Raider earlier this summer. It was my third jet ski. The only problem was, it did not come with a trailer. I already own two 1996 Polaris SLT 780s and one 2-place trailer. So that meant I needed to find another trailer for our third jet ski. I went on marketplace and found a trailer that some guy was trying to convert to a two place trailer. He obviously didn't know what the fuck he was doing, and was taking too long, so the wife got frustrated and put it on marketplace for $100. I picked it up, deconverted it, and restored it to a single place trailer. Now I will back it up into the lake, load the jet ski and then tighten the bolts to match the angle of the hull. It was a good day.

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy

I forgot to mention, I stayed home with my son and my nephew Jack on Friday night. We turned on all the arcade games and the TV and then had pizza in the booth, surrounded by that ambience. My wife even came down and joined us to eat for about a half hour. She never comes down there. Then Saturday night, my nephew Zander came over and we went down and had snacks and played Scrabble. What a blast. Turned on some games and the TV up at the bar and got our scrabble on for well over 2 1/2 hours. Man, we were making up some funky ass words at the end. Surprisingly, my wife came down a second night in a row to watch us play a little bit and have a snack. That's the entire reason I built this thing. We pulled out sequence and Jumanji for next weekend.

@Phetishboy I keep coming back to your thread because it gives me hope! Seeing all the work you put in and now actually getting to enjoy it is awesome. I've been grinding away on our place for what feels like forever, and the boring-ass projects just never seem to end. We had a nice setup when the kids were younger, but we definitely outgrew it. Now I catch myself worrying they won't even care about this stuff by the time I'm finally done. Really appreciate you sharing—it keeps the dream alive that one day I'll have a space like yours too.

Awesome. That's kind of why I keep posting. It's sort of a like a captain's log of my journey since we bought this place, but I am also hoping to inspire others. Just keep at it. It'll be worth it in the end. You may not get the enthusiasm you thought you would at first, but eventually everybody realizes what you've built and what they've got and will take advantage of it in their own way. For me, throwing other people in the mix, a friend, a cousin, my brother and his kids, my friends' kids, my kids' friends, etc. usually reinvigorates the space. I mean, let's face it, when your kids grow up with this stuff, it's only cool when someone else is there to show it off to and enjoy with them. I also like to be there as often as I can to instigate and enjoy the fun this room has to offer. Sometimes, if I don't remind people about it, the room might sit dormant for a month or more. The minute I bring it up and sort of force my way down there, that's when everybody starts going down there and enjoying the space. Even then, though, it might just be me. Like it was Sunday. Everybody was upstairs making snacks and soups, playing cards and (kinda) watching football. After I had worked on my jet ski trailer outside, I went down there all by myself with a vodka/Dr Pepper and watched the rest of Redzone. Even though I would've loved some folks to have joined me, I was fine with sitting in there by myself as well. Sometimes the right space and ambience is enough.

Wifey just asked me the other day why I haven't been down in the game room much recently. I told her with the end of summer projects, our busy weekends and no kids in the house it's just been tough to get down there without an excuse. You, sir, have inspired me. As usual.

Well, hopefully, I can inspire myself. I picked up that Donkey Kong cocktail a month ago, told my oldest son about it and he showed a little bit of interest, but I told him to wait for it to be working properly. By now he's forgotten about it and I'm still waiting to get the goddamn thing working. I also had planned on rearranging the Arcade for it to fit, but since it's not working, I just sort of shoved it in an open area near the back of the Arcade. I had planned on spending a whole day rearranging, cleaning, finishing up some cool visual projects I've had planned for eight years, etc. But instead, I've been working on getting the beach and the backyard cleaned up and getting things out of the lake before the big freeze. Last week we got the swim platform out, yesterday we finally got the pontoon out. Now it's the pontoon lift, the dock, and my son's fishing boat lift.

Well, I've also been working on my Tetris Cabaret since March. I figured I'd have it in the arcade by this past Summer, but I could never quite get the monitor working correctly. Now I swapped a new monitor in, but I still can't get the monitor to work with both boards on my Jamma switcher. I'd like to wrap the game up and just move it in, but it always seems like something is stopping me.

Finally finished her up and got her into Galaxy blue:

Q*bert Mini, did you have a build thread on that? Looks like you modeled it off your other Nintendo mini builds.
